My Journey as a SHS Student

By: Veronica Dulnuan

Hi my name is Veronica, and I am senior at Cauayan City National High School. Let me tell you that being student nowadays is not easy.

Adults often tell us that we don’t know what stress is and to wait until we grow up. But as a student we have our own levels of stress. For example, all school activities should be pass on time to have a high grade and if you’re not going to pass it on time your teacher will give you a lessen grade/point.39557985_349821938892663_955135679350702080_n

Then, getting your homework finish on time seems simple, but you still hope to have a life outside of school as well. Many students in high school years start their first job, so now you have school in the mornings, followed by the household chores or sometimes their work because they are working students.

By the time you are done, you are too excited to finish your school work, but you stay up late to try and return to school. What good is that?

Some students have gotten involved in serious relationship and maybe being married and it doesn’t mean that you’re exempted from homework, but it does make home life stressful.

Also, young girls are becoming mothers, and that means even if she continues to attend school after giving birth, she is now a full-time mother as well as trying to accomplish homework assignments just to graduate.received_1349973228438360
Going through something like that makes you vulnerable from being bullied. All high school students are exposed to it at some point. High school can be a place where student are made fun of, singled out, and pointed at.

Each of us has a choice on how to accept these challenges. For me i choose my faith. I have expressed some of the challenges we face in just being a student. I have faith on myself specially to our God Almighty.

“Stresssful but Soothing”

By: Janella Mae Caliwliw

Senior high school life is the last part of being a high school student. Some people say, this is the worst days of their student life, others are not. But for me, being a Grade 11 student was both horrible and soothing. It was horrifying and stressful because I have a lots of requirements that I need to do. Some assignments that I need to answer correctly. Projects and activities that I need to accomplish. And of course, the examination that I need to take and pass. Many things that should be done or else my grade would be failed.

I choose the academic track called STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) even though I’m not that good in Mathematics subject- because I want to take Mechanical Engineering in college.

I learn to wake up early in the morning. Prepare my breakfast and my uniform. Save money and interact to others. The first week was hellish because I’m lonely. I don’t have a friend to talk about things. But its way different now. Days have passed, I made a lot of good friends. Friends that are crazy and noisy but, supportive and kind. Good friends like clover; hard to find and lucky to have. They make my day complete. They are my happy pill aside from my family.

“My Senior High School Journey”

by: Jerrico Duldulao

Students face many challenges with school, relationships, work and social interactions.

If someone were to ask me what it is like to be a student in today’s society, I would probably answer them something like this:

Hi, my name is jerrico, and I am a senior at Cauayan city national high school. Let me just tell you that being a student in today’s society is not always easy.

Adults often tell us that we don’t know what stress is and to just wait until we grow up. But we as teenage students have our own levels of stress.

For instance, all school activities require you to uphold your grade point average to high standards, along with the expectations that you dedicate any extra time to it day and night.

I want to remind everyone, including myself, that in this moment, we are as old as we have ever been, and as young as we will be again.

Live in the moment! If this was your last moment, would you be able to say you were living? I want to be able to say yes. So that’s what I am trying to do learning as I go, wearing faith as my armor and knowing that in God’s plan we are all students and teachers, too.

TEMPORARY BUT PRICELESS

As a student it is very difficult to study well especially if you are not willing to adjust yourself to your new environment. Especially that we already have the K-12 program in our country that is usually done abroad.

It is very difficult for us as a student to accept that our four years in high school was changed into two more years instead of turning college and studying the courses we want in universities we ever wanted. One more thing is when the first day of the class began in June, It is very hard to be with people you mostly don’t know yet, so it’s a huge challenge and it’s a burden for me on how I can be with my new classmates in the new atmosphere that I’m/we’re facing currently.

But all my fears, doubts and nervousness were suddenly lost when we all became friends, and recognized each others inner and true personalites. All negative thoughts were replaced by positive thoughts and that’s where friendship between each other grew so we quickly.

Senior year is filled with activities and there is always lots of work to do, there are no times you’ll feel free and relaxed, Time management is a must but here is where the saying “grade is more important than sleep” starts.

As a Senior High School Student I am also happy that we work with my classmates of our problems and the subjects we find difficult. Besides all the negative thoughts in my mind, we still manage to laugh, enjoy and share things we want to share.

I saw the patience of our teachers to teach us well, even if they were upset with us, they still manage to help us in every situation that we have difficulty to deal with.

At the end I know that God has a reason why he is doing this to us. And being a Senior High School Student is not bad because it is only temporary, it just helps us to know more about life and what courses will we take when the College life begins and came in our way.

It’s a good idea to think that we are all okay, but I know that the experiences we are experiencing right now are just temporary and there will be more problems that will definitely test our courage as a student or an individual not now but in the future.

Senior Highschool Life

By: Dexter Serrano

Junior highschool have been a great journey to me and
after the difficulties, the blood and sweat of being a junior high school student, I surpass this things with diligence, perseverance, and
Hardwork. And now, I’m a Senior highschool student, there are more responsibilities that should be taken time to time, so I need to double my diligentness, my perseverance and my hardwork.

Being senior high school student is a different level from being junior high school student. Here in senior high , I encountered fellow students who are doubting of the K-12 Curriculum, they say that it’s just a waste of money and time instead of getting themselves in college, but for me, it is a great opportunity being in the K-12 Curriculum because I’m preparing myself in college level with my course Civil Engineering.

In the first week of being senior high school student, there are some quite few adjustments, I met new friends ,and I thought that the teachers will be strict like the teachers in college, because that was my sister said, but there are some teachers that are quite strict and some are not. There are some teachers that are good in teaching and some are not.
I have some subjects here in senior highschool that aren’t related to the subjects from junior highschool, it is because there are some subjects that should taken in senior high that should be taken in college, it is because K-12 are quite advance. The subjects are not that quite hard if I reviewed or studied the subjects very well.

I am confidently taking the senior high school seriously. I’m already missing my old friends and my junior high school life, but I am happy because I experienced alot in being junior highschool student, and I use this experience in senior highschool to be my advantage.
